Perhaps, as with Jackie who is also undergoing interviews, Friday is seen as a bad day for interviews by Wibsite people.
Considering this was my first professional interview since 1998, and my first panel interview, via video-conference, I am generally happy with how it went. I was nervous, rambled, gave a few vague answers, but I also believe I answered some questions well and gave good evidence for my comments from my working life. And, at the end of it all, you can only do your best.
I'm trying not to indulge in too much, or any, 'What ifs?', but I must say as I went down the stairs after the interview I had whatever is the nicer equivalent of l'esprit de l'escalier -- thinking of what I should have said to a question far too late; and wishing I could duck back up the stairs, go to the room and announce to the video screen, "I thought of something else I'd like to add...".
But, God is in charge and whether I get the job or I do not, I know He cares for and will provide for me. And the experience of preparing for an job interview and actually having one was very helpful, and I am sure will help me in the future. And the preparation I did gave me a sense of confidence, particularly as I looked at my achievements and realised that I had done some good work, and that getting an interview meant my resume, cover letter, and matching my skills and experience to the criteria listed, were of sufficient worth to get me the interview.
And thanks especially to you dear people for your thoughts and prayers. And thank you to two dear friends who assisted me greatly in my preparation, by providing advice, possible questions, comments and feedback on what I talked to them about what I would say, and of course encouragement and emotional support. I am truly blessed in the people I know.
