Work Experience

Work has been rather busy of late: exceptionally busy infact. But, thanks be to God, I appear to be getting through most of it without having to stay back too much later than my usual five-o-clock dash out the door. This week is also proving to be a rather warm one: summer is on its way. It got up to 29.6°C out here today, and they are forecasting, after a slight dip in the next few days, for it to hit 30°C on Friday and Saturday -- the City, being nearer to the coast and having sea-breezes, may be a degree or two cooler.

This week at work I have a fellow from Year 10 [15/16 y.o. for those outside Oz] joining me as part of his work experience. B is a very eager young man and quite knowledgable also, so it has been a great pleasure to look after him these past two days. It is also rather good to have someone to help me do some of the administrative work I've let slip: we needed to do an audit and I have kept putting it off -- partly due to other, more important, things coming up and partly because it isn't exactly the most exhilarating job: today I gave B the job and he got most of it done. He also proved very helpful in his assisting me relocate several PCs. Good stuff.

Music class calls: best be off. But before I do, it is only right that I buy a box of Maltesers from a colleague who is selling them to send her son's basketball team to Vanuatu: I consider it my duty to help eat chocolate, wherever it may be.
