Another warm day [31.5°C at 10am!], and I needed to get a new aerial plug for my TV, so I headed over to the air-conditioned comfort of Westfields [a huge chain of shopping centres], got the necessary plug, and then went to the café next door, Maddie's.

A very nice selection of food in a pleasant environment. I settled for an Iced Mocha and Bacon, Tomato and Mushrooms on toasted vienna bread. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

I'm off to visit my niece now, which I'm looking forward to. Tonight I will be leading my first ever Bible Study in the Orthodox Church [my last time leading a study was way back in 2002, or perhaps 2001, when I led a very in-depth study of the Book of Revelation]. The series is based on a Catechism series from some Eastern Catholics in the US: I think it will be a good series as it looks at the Gospels and their use in a Byzantine liturgical context, and being Orthodox we do have a Byzantine Liturgy, Lectionary and Calendar, as well as using a lot of material from the Early Greek Fathers. I may need to downplay a number of quotes from Vatican II, though they are still useful and I will use some, and I've also looked for some quotes from a few modern Orthodox theologians as well. All in all, I think, I pray, it will be a very beneficial study -- both for myself and for those who come along to Bible Study after Vespers. Please pray for us all, and for me in particular, that I may lead well.

But now: off to visit Skye.
