Lord, as all around are gripped with World Cup fever,
bless us with understanding,
strengthen us with patience and
grant us the gift of sympathy if needed.
Amen.
The final petition for sympathy I found particularly rather well-thought and amusing. His prayers for devotees and hope are also well worth a look. Thank you to the
Sunday BBC Radio 4 programme whose interview with him informed me of it: and thank you to
ferijen who got me addicted to the programme, and several, well, 12!, other Radio 4 podcasts. :help:
In all seriousness, I do hope all who are interested are enjoying it;
these photos from The Big Picture [thank you
kercal for pointing me to that site; gosh, you Wibsite people have a lot to answer for with me and internet sites :) ] certainly show the joy -- and pain: #41 particularly as it shows Australian fans in a cinema in Melbourne watching the game against Germany [where Oz lost 4-0] in 3D. A good idea [for those interested...]; odd how I heard about something happening in a number of cinemas here on a US website.
