I love nieces to pieces

Perhaps this blog needs a change of name, say, for the next 18 years, while my nieces grow up. :)
[Though Exploring Orthodoxy is perhaps not an accurate blog title anyway, given that I ramble on at anything that catches my eye!]

Thank you all for the congratulations and wishes on the post below. To answer the questions:

Steve: one day off the fabulous 28th; she was born on the 29th: blame me for not being able to type correctly [I've fixed it up now]. My sister was hoping for the 28th, as Skye was born on January 28, and that might make it easier to remember for her increasing agèd uncle :), but the 29th it is. Sorry to give confusion: we don't change dates and days down here. :)

Ferijen: Skye seems to be good so far. I know there will be a time with envy raises its head, but, as yet, all is fine. We have kept her entertained -- she is staying at my parents' place for a few days [my sister will come out of hospital Monday] -- with books, her new My Little Ponies, and the Play Doh Safari Set I bought her -- she loves her Play Doh. As well, there are board games to play, chasings around the house, and lots and lots of talking.

My sister had originally thought she may call the baby Jasmine. Skye came home from the hospital on Friday night and the first thing she said to me was, "Her name Eden. Don't call her Jasmine. Her name Eden." That's me told then.

[If you're eating and easily made queasy, perhaps skip this paragraph...]
Because of the quick delivery, apparently poor Eden had quite a bit of mucous in her lungs(?), so she was vomiting quite a bit [you've been warned :)] through the night -- resulting in a lot of sheet changing. She also was not feeding. Last night all was fine, though, and she began to feed, and stop the vomiting.

So cute...and so tiny. So precious too. It doesn't need saying, I am sure, but I am one proud uncle.

Thanks and praise be to God.
