...somewhat came to a crashing end this late afternoon. Mental / emotional strain and all that. Anyway... Thanks be to God for a wonderful Bridegroom Service at church which was a blessed source of comfort, as well as an impromptu coffee this evening with a dear and kind soul who let me release and gave words of comfort, assurance and faith. A good way to celebrate one's 33rd year on earth.
But, to Tasmania. Or at least Launceston [Lon-ses-tn in that wondrous pronunciation only English can do] and the northern part of the eastern coast. Wow. And wow again. I'll be sure to bore you all silly soon [Holy Week and work busy-ness may mean this will be delayed], but as a summary:
- I was captivated and entranced by ineffable beauty of the Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay [how had I not heard of this before? stunning!] and Cape Tourville Lighthouse in Freychinet [Frey-sh-ney] National Park, St Columba Falls and Cataract Gorge, where I walked on various days; truly God's creation is magnificent
- in fact stunning scenery wherever I drove even; such a variety of plant and animal life
- a most gracious, informative and fascinating B&B host [his wife was away and he was unwell as I arrived...yet did all he could and more to make me feel at home]; I heartily recommend Addlestone House as a wondrous place to stay should you wish to explore the east
- finding 95% cocoa chocolate in Choc-A-Lolly in St Helens [come on Easter... ;)]
- while browsing, stumbling across, and buying, an 1873 copy of "Lyra Anglicana" [a collection of sacred hymns and songs] for $35 at a bookstore in the middle of nowhere, literally off a highway in the middle of the bush
- delightful and moreish food wherever I went
- reading and reading and reading whenever and wherever I got the chance; during meals, on beaches, in bed...
Thanks be to God: truly restorative and rejuvenating. I need to get back to Tassie asap.
