Today [29th] I've moved from the 20s to the 30s.
Last night I had a dinner with 10 work colleagues at a local Italian restaurant: very, very nice. The vegetarian risotto was wonderful, and wonderfully filling: though I did detect more than what the menu suggested was "a hint of chilli" so a lot of water was consumed. It was a great night out, full of laughter and conversation. Thanks be to God for the wonderful work colleagues I have. None of those from our other office could make it and they called me up yesterday, on the pretence there were PC issues, to get me down and then wish me all the best and give me a nice gift of Lotto tickets. I told them they'd know if I won as they'd see me zoom pass in a flash car.
Today I'm heading to work a bit earlier, so I can leave a bit earlier, and have a nice dinner [we went out last week to a great Turkish restaurant for my dad and myself, as our birthdays are close to each other] -- and open my presents! -- tonight at home, before dashing off to trivia. Skye was over when I got home last night and, as I walked in, said, "Een's ber-day...not Skye's ber-day...not Skye's ber-day...Een's bir-day." A lot of things are "not" for her at the moment: must be a phase, "Koala...not crocodile", "Bunny rabbit...not whale"...
Tomorrow I am off to Fraser Island for four days: I've never been there and am greatly looking forward to visiting what I hear, and from what I see via photos, is a beautiful place. I'm doing an all-day tour Saturday, and Friday night and Sunday I hope to do a few walks, perhaps even a ranger-guided canoe tour.
Thanks be to God for these 30 years, and all the blessings He has lavished on me; and especially for the wonderful family and friends I have, and the wonderful people He has brought into my life.
