First of all, congratulations to dear friends L & N on the birth of their little girl E: born this morning weighing 3kg and measuring 52cm. Ad such a cutie. Many, many years!
Only one night (Wednesday) left of The Turramurra Passion: if you can get to Turramurra tomorrow night, I can strongly recommend reserving your tickets via the website and going along: you will not be disappointed.
The director [who I know from the Ship of Fools forums] and his cast and crew have put together a fantastic production: humorous at times, deeply moving and challenging at others. My well done and hearty congratulations to to all. The play was set in, and outside, Turramurra Uniting Church, with we, the audience, following the cast to the different areas as various scenes of the final few weeks of Christ's life on earth were re-enacted. As I wrote above, seeing the events as recorded in the Gospels depicted in front of you is indeed moving and challenging: I'm very much a visual- and audio-oriented person: there is that great impact for me seeing the events "live". Hearing the sorrow in Jesus' voice at the rich young man going away; seeing his anguish, wonderfully acted, in the Garden of Gethsemane; seeing the disciples bickering over who is the greatest...all these -- and more -- truly impacted on me.
Bring on next year's production.
As an aside, perhaps I might start saving for Oberammergau's 10-yearly Passion Play.
