As in the previous post, prayers for my grandma's funeral tomorrow greatly appreciated.
A colleague and friend, together with many from the Eritrean community, are holding a demonstration in Canberra tomorrow [on a day of worldwide demonstrations] denouncing the US sanctions resolution adopted in the name of the UN Security Council; prayers that truth and justice will prevail.
I have been asked, earlier this afternoon, to give the sermon next, yes, next, Sunday; Father is looking to involve others in the life of the Church which is indeed a laudable aim even if I am somewhat bewildered as to why I was chosen. A fellow parishioner gave a wonderfully informative and challenging sermon today; a tough act to follow, so to speak! Prayers appreciated for me as I prepare, and prayers also for humility in my words and actions. As I know many around the Wibsite and the Internet in general do regularly, or irregularly, give sermons: any advice appreciated. As are any ideas about what people may like to hear about St Gregory Palamas [where I am currently thinking I will focus, or at least start from and move on to how we are called to be "partakers of the Divine nature" [2 Peter 1:4] and the practical working of this in the life of the Christian, as we commemorate him on the Second Sunday of Great Lent]. All suggestions and comments, and prayers of course, gratefully received.
