Thank you to dear friends A & M, who are currently living in London, who sent me all of this good stuff for my birthday.
Terry's, Green & Blacks and Duchy Shortbread have long been favourites, and now I have some other biscuits and some delightful-looking chocolate called Minstrels to try. I think I better do some extra bike riding.
There was a slight delay (I had many e-mails/SMSes asking, 'Has it arrived?' [I didn't know what 'it' entailed...]: as can be seen from the sticker the parcel was opened up for inspection by Australian Quarantine opened it up to have a look -- and a sample perhaps? :) Seriously, with Australia having very unique flora and fauna, and the fact we have managed to keep many pests and diseases out (though a perusal of pests here shows we did introduce a few, such as the cane toad, ourselves), our Quarantine and Inspection Service does a fine and very necessary job. I've had my shoes cleaned upon return from overseas, I've had bags checked: but this is the first time I've had a parcel checked. An informative pamphlet was also provided giving details on what can be mailed into Australia, and why there are restrictions.
