Six Weird Things

Thank you to the not-weird-at-all Todd (although hiking in thunderstorms is not my cup-of-tea) who tagged me with this. I had written six weird things six weird things a year ago, but there's more than six strange things to me. If you want to share your weirdness, drop me a note in the comments so I can read yours.

  1. Despite having travelled through Western Europe, Sweden, Canada [though not the prairie provinces, yet] and to San Francisco and San Jose, I haven't been to New Zealand (except Auckland Airport in transit), this (~ 25° S ) is the farthest north I've been in Australia, and I haven't been to Uluru or the Northern Territory or most of Western Australia and South Australia either.
  2. I love using the letter æ in words such as encyclopædia and mediæval, and ever since I saw connexion spelled that way I've never gone back to ct.
  3. I take my own (generic, not anything special) soap and shampoo when I'm on holidays, and take the hotel soap and shampoo, and sewing kit, home with me and use them when I get home.
  4. Despite being one, perhaps due to where I grew up, I have very few 'Anglo' friends: and I even feel a bit strange when I am in a place or at a function where Anglos only are present.
  5. If I study, I need to start on the hour or half-hour: if it's 14:32, I need to wait until 15:00 [though this might just be laziness].
  6. I have the nickname of 'liturgical slattern' among friends, particularly those from the Ship, as I love to visit other churches. My colleagues at work also know I do the odd Mystery Worship, and my manager told me that the General Manager -- whom he told once for some reason (not sure how the topic comes up!) -- found it very interesting.
