Big Brother in Oz

I don't watch it, and for that I'm entirely thankful: news report [from a tabloid, but other media outlets are covering it]:

BIG Brother has sunk to a new low, with revelations that the reality show knew a contestant had miscarried, yet decided to go ahead with a task requiring her to keep a toy baby "alive".

The task caused the contestant, Kate Gladman, 25, a government lawyer from Victoria, to break down.

Words fail.

God willing this 'experiment' [I have no idea, nor care, what season we're up to] is over. With 'turkey-slapping' last season [not work safe for a Google if you're innocent like me and had no idea what it was], and other stupid things, surely it's time to get rid of it. Not sure what other countries' experiences are -- but down here it just seems pathetic.
