Thank you all for your comments and best wishes. Like Mimi, I am rather prone to conjunctivitis [every 2 years I seem to get it], so it is something I am kind of used to, but would rather do without. Eye is still a bit itchy, but at least no gunk is working its way out anymore. And the sore throat that appeared on Friday appears to be departing, thanks be to God.
Friday was spent in bed watching episodes from Season 2 of Torchwood [good stuff] and Season 1 of Jericho [alright and helped past the time]. Also did some reading, more of which in another post.
Saturday's conversation class went well: based on an off-hand comment we talked about weddings and wedding receptions, then I blabbered on about pronouncing the past tense for regular verbs and then talked about irregular verbs, before the conversation continued with what we like, love, dislike and hate. I am so blessed to have such great people in the class: 2 from last week did not make it but 2 others appeared and contributed wonderfully.
Saturday dinner was at Gledswood for my mum's 60th [next Saturday, but my sister and her family are off to Queensland and then Fiji this week so it was moved forward]. 30 or so friends of mum came along, which was great to see, and a great night was had with good food and good company.
Sunday was Father's Day and we had dinner at a local club. That day I had pottered around a bit, going out to read in a park before enjoying a Vietnamese lunch [ginger rice and boiled chicken] and then heading to a craft store to buy calico to sew on to the back of my carpet so I can push some dowel through and hang the carpet up. I also bought a new light for my bedroom.
Work seems like a bit of a rest after all that running around. And we have a team lunch [manager paying!] Friday to look forward to so the week is looking pretty good.
