I had a meeting at the local Volunteer Resource Centre, after finally plucking up courage to go and see someone and hope I had some skills to offer. I filled in a form, talked to the Resource Co-ordinator about my skills [!] and areas I was interested in, and thought, "Looks like I may have a plan to consider..."
Several moments later she finds my local Library runs English Conversation Classes for migrants. And they just now have a need for someone on Saturday mornings. I am meeting the co-ordinator Monday to discuss. We shall see. Looks very promising though.
