Prayers for our Parish

But first: on the way home I also saw what looked like a rather severe accident on the motorway; please remember any persons affected also. Lord, have mercy; Christ, have mercy; Lord, have mercy.

Each Wednesday evening we hold a service of prayer, called a Moleben within Orthodoxy, where we pray The Small Canon of Supplication to the Theotokos. Our particular intent is a building, or block of land, that we may purchase to be our parish, as well as a home for our priest. We are currently renting a hall from the council Saturday evenings [Vespers] and Sunday mornings [Matins and Divine Liturgy], with other services held in the converted garage of the house we are renting for our priest. The service tonight was small, three of us and the priest, though beautiful; and one of our number was a visitor from Melbourne who I'd met at previous retreats: nice to see him again.

After the service I heard that a block of land that is (1) suitable, and (2) affordable [in Sydney terms], is up for auction in a month or so: please remember our parish in your prayers. Some of the parish are off to have a full inspection tomorrow.
