Had my prescription checked [no change] and bought a new pair of glasses -- wanted to get back at least some of what I pay for health insurance.

Went to the home of 2 parishioners for our monthly Parish Cooking Class -- a social function to help us get to know each other and to have fellowship outside of Sunday mornings after Liturgy. Lasagne, followed by a bonus of scones. Great food and great people -- makes a great afternoon: and I stayed back and talked further with the hosts for an hour or so. Had an earlier conversation with a friend of the hosts [her Godfather/Sponsor in fact], and Father, which again hammered home that the possibility I considered, and dismissed, 2 or so years ago, and was considering dismissing again, may in fact be possible -- and more than that, easily doable. I really feel as if God has said, "Let's stop the subtle hints...I'm driving this home and you better take notice!" I pray I am: I have not felt sure about anything like this for a long time.

Bought some small tins of paint to try out on my bedroom walls. Painted a first coat on an area before I left for church and returned home, after some shopping and lunch, to do the second. Am liking what I chose -- a suede colour for 3 walls and my cupboard; a white [half-curd] for the wall where my red/crimson [? -- remember, red/green colour blind] sofa is and where I will hang my carpet; and a deep brown [bunker] for the trim.

Changed and washed sheets and quilt.

Attended Divine Liturgy and had a nice catch-up talk afterwards with a young man studying to become a personal trainer.

Had a haircut, and changed my look slightly. A bit shorter and, after 20 or so years, no longer brushed back.

Went the Oxfam Shop to get some chocolate and hot chocolate.

Bought some Apple Tea package mix from a Turkish grocery.

Decided I will probably not do an Arabic course currently: I'll take a break from formal study [at least I say I will] for the rest of the year. I'll review my Arabic textbooks at home.

Bought lunch [Lebanese oregano pizza with vegetables : wrapped up like a kebab] -- $2.00: bargain. $1.20 only if you do not want vegetables. Came home and ate half [and got full] while watching an episode of French and Saunders [bought the DVD box set before I left for holidays].

Took [wet: rain] sheets off clothesline and tumbled dry.

Hopped on the Internet.
