It's a reasonably cool 12°C at the moment [11:00 Saturday], and it's supposed to reach 15, but there are blue skies stretching from horizon to horizon. The perfect day to buy the Saturday Herald [which its 50,000 supplements: you need a truck to bring it home] and sit out the back and relax. And that is my plan.
The drama mentioned in the previous post was just one of many this week: I am rather glad the working week is over. There were highlights though: the first singing class, a win at trivia -- so another $50 in the kitty -- and a nice steak for dinner; and a great night out last night to farewell a colleague: I had a delicious prawn risotto with a side of the finest tasting roasted potatoes, with herbs and parmesan, I think I've ever had. Dessert was a chocolate cake oozing with hot fudge and vanilla gelato. Definitely not dieting. One of the waiters at Gemelle should definitely be on stage: he sung an Andrea Bocelli song about parting to our colleague -- he truly had the most wonderful voice: strong and simply sublime.
I went to Pilates this morning: my first ever class. It hurt, hurt quite a bit, but it was enjoyable. I've read a few chapters of Phil Rickman's enjoyable and entertaining The Wine of Angels. Now it's to the backyard and the Herald.
This afternoon? I'll probably continue reading The Life of Moses by St Gregory of Nyssa [remind me to blog about this book!], and start watching Series 1 of the new Doctor Who. Series 3 continues tonight on ABC. In terms of DVDs, I also have, having received then as part of my Crikey [an independent online media service] subscription, Series 1 of Absolute Power and Road to Guantanamo, both of which I'm looking forward to watching.
I'll also iron [I do find it relaxing I'll admit, especially when listening to music -- I'm currently listening to Roger Cicero's Männersachen [Men's Business, by my translation] -- yes, he of Eurovision 2007 fame -- I love big band and jazz music] and I suppose I better get some lunch and dinner -- though after last night's meal perhaps bread and water is sufficient.
Whatever you are up to, my prayers that you too have a blessed day.
