Though first, icon corners. There is a thread you can contribute on Ship-of-Fools here and a survey on icons and how you use them that you can fill in here: please do so. For those interested you can see, with notes [thanks to a Shipmate I discovered this Flickr feature!], my icon wall and icon table. Please share yours on the Ship and/or in the comments below.

Yesterday, at least yesterday here and now, was the Feast of St Laurence, Deacon and Martyr. Some of us from the Ship headed off to Christ Church St Laurence for their patronal feast last night: High Mass with Procession [you may recall I also went there last year]. For the musically inclined, here are the details:

Setting: Service in G by Jackson
Motet: Give is the wings of faith by Bullock
Hymns: Light's abode, celestial Salem [processional]; Lord, enthroned in heavenly splendor [offertory]; Give me the wings of faith to rise [post-communion]; Who are these like stars appearing [recessional]
A beautiful service, with the choir and organist in fine form as always. Afterwards, we, any many others, headed to a local pub for food and drinks: it was great to catch up with people I know from the Ship and it was great to meet many new people as well. While eating I was at the table with a few from the sanctuary party: they certainly were having a fun time and were a riot to be around. A wonderful evening of worship and companionship.

A blessed Feast, a little belated, to all Laurences/Lawrences!
