The blessings continued last night and tonight with me spending [too short, always too short!] time with my nieces.
Eden is crawling now...and can go like a rocket at times. Last night, Skye wanted to play tea sets and picnics and told me we would have to go to her room as Eden destroys things. Well, no sooner were we there then I heard pattering on the tiles, followed by a small head poking around from the corner, followed by Eden charging on all fours to Skye's immaculately laid-out picnic set. We made bacon, eggs, pancakes, cookies and a banana-strawberry-caramel-chocolate milkshake [I didn't ask]. Skye had a drawing for me of a house and flowers, with stars and suns [as an amateur astronomer and general perfectionist I held back criticism of stars and suns appearing at the same time :) ], and she had also saved a choc-chip muffin for me which I enjoyed when I got home.
Tonight they were over here and I played with Eden with some wooden blocks, read Tom Thumb to Skye, and then set up a bakery with Skye where we sold endless cookies [wooden blocks] to Eden who seemed content to throw them back -- perhaps we need to work on our recipies.
I am blessed.
I received a postcard from my parents and a few SMSes as they travel around Europe. They were off to Pompeii yesterday: I cannot wait to hear about there time there. They are having a most wonderful time, and will soon be back in London before setting off on another bus tour -- this time of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I am so happy for them that they were able to do what has been a dream of theirs for such a long time.
