Thank you all for the comments and prayers: they are greatly appreciated. I can identify with Arti's comment about pushing a relationship to trigger a rejection; I wish I could identify with Kerensa and Saint's comments about forgiving ourselves and especially Saint's comment on knowing God: I know these are good things, and right things: but, as said, they take effort and time -- and it's a struggle currently. But thank you: I did need to hear it. Part II to come soon, but on to happier things...
Yesterday [Friday] I took the day off work and went with my mum and Skye to the Zig Zag Railway, where Thomas the Tank Engine, and James, were being run as part of a Friends of Thomas day. As well as the engines, they also had a jumping castle, merry-go-round, colouring activities, bubble-blowing and miniature trains for the kids: I was wishing I could have a turn on the Jumping Castle! It really was a good day out, and Skye greatly enjoyed it. Flickr photo set here.
We sat in the "Lounge Area" [very sophisticated!] on-board James, on some very comfortable padded chairs, that were rocking chairs, and easily rocked back and forth as we rattled along. Some very nice scenery to be seen out of the window as we made our way down, and Skye greatly enjoyed looking out and pointing at everything she could see.
When we got to the bottom we headed to a maintenance shed where all the activities were set up. She went on the merry go-round, the jumping castle, a miniature "Thomas" and a push Thomas.
She also got her face-painted: and induced a bit of a laughter with her "Frog" response to the lady's, "And what would you like?" Not sure where she pulled frog out of: there was no display -- the lady painted anything and everything. And she did a great job I think.
A truly wonderful day out: thanks be to God!
