A great week in fact: dinners with friends Monday and Tuesday; trivia [despite an appalling performance -- though it's all good fun] Thursday; the birth of the second daughter of two friends [Chloe -- God grant her many years!] Friday; and spending time with friends and a bbq Friday evening. Food and friends: a great combination.
And today, more friends and food. I spent the day with my Godfather Wissam [I caught up with his wife for a little while too which was great -- and how nice she let me intrude on Valentine's Day! :)] looking at photos from our trips [he and his wife went to France, Italy, Greece and Lebanon], talking about anything and everything from Church Tradition to Liturgy to our lives to Roman History, and everything in between. Driving around looking for lunch, we saw a place called Souvlaki Hut along Victoria Road and thought why not? We ended up getting a platter of chicken, lamb, greek salad, pita bread, houlami cheese, meatballs, chips and tzatziki & hommous dips. A rather large selection and we didn't finish it all -- though we had a good go of it. And it was pretty good: a great find.
Simply great time spent with a great friend. We do talk Sunday after Church, but it often flies by quickly, so it was great to spend a day with him.
I do have an enormous amount of respect for, and I look up to, Wissam; not only as a wiser brother in Christ but in many things -- life in general. He is truly an encouraging and inspiring friend and one who does have wisdom far beyond his young [29] years. I spoke to him today of confusions and concerns as to where life is leading, as a good friend he listened, and as a great Godfather he provided wise advice and suggestions. I do feel truly blessed to know him, and honoured to count him as a friend and as my Godfather.
Thanks and praise indeed to God!
