A blessed Nativity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ [Christmas] to those who celebrate it today: be they Eastern Orthodox like Michael or kadj, or a member of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church as my collegaue is, or a member of another church celebrating this Feast today. Happy Feast Day! Christ is Born!

I went to the local library on Saturday, and as well as picking the BBC's production of Hamlet, I thought it was time to read some fiction to allow my imagination to escape and wander. Farli recently posted some books she has read. The Lord John mystery sounded interesting, and the library had Diana Gabaldon's Lord John and the Private Matter, so I picked it up. I have read two chapters and am loving it: thank you Farli! I also stumbled across Ellis Peter's Cadfael Monk's Hood mystery and borrowed it also. I saw a Cadfael episode when I was staying with Michael and rather enjoyed it.

I had a $10 Borders' voucher to spend: so of course I ended up spending $50 when I went. I have been a fan of Tina Arena for quite some time: she has a wonderfully strong voice and has released what I think are very good songs. Her new album, Songs of Love and Loss, is a covers album [with 2 new releases] and I am enjoying listening to it. I also bought the RyanDan CD: a pop-classical CD. I'm looking forward to hearing it. Finally, for Skye's birthday [the present tally continues to increase], Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a book I enjoyed and I hope she will too.
