I forgot one method of transport in my earlier post: curved escalator. Never seen, or been, on one of these before: or since.
It was great to head back to my parish Sunday. I had some nerves, as I often do, but went along -- and was glad I did. It was great to see them again, after a month-and-a-half, and the Feasts of The Nativity of Christ and Theophany.
Of particular joy was seeing my Godather, Wissam, again; he truly is a brother and a teacher in Christ, and a great example and encouragement, and it is simply wonderful to simply spend time talking to him. God willing, we will get together in February one Saturday and just hang out and catch up. It is amazing how much time can pass, and so much can happen in one's life, before you catch up with friends. But catching up every Sunday is a great blessing.
I do not have any recent photos, but here is one from my Chrismation back in December 2005.
Thanks indeed be to God for great friends, and a great friend, and Godfather, in Wissam in particular.
