I am off to the Turramurra Passion this Saturday, and greatly looking forward to it. It is, from the website, "an interactive and slightly modern interpretation of the Passion Play tradition. It tells the story of Easter - the last weeks of the earthly life of Jesus of Nazareth." If you are in Sydney, or nearby, I can heartily recommend it based on previous years.
I saw my first film, of 10, at the French Film Festival last night. Before the film started, I was rather taken by an ad for the Tefal [who are sponsors of the Festival] Quick Cup kettle: it boils water in 3 seconds: 3 seconds! Wow.
Anyway, the movie I saw was J'attends quelqu'un [Waiting for Someone]. The movie concerns itself with the interwoven lives of the residents of a small French town, and it is a rather strange movie: not a great deal happens and what does happens occurs very, very slowly. But I found that part of the charm. As was the fact that a great deal of "what happened?" was left to your imagination. Rather than being bombarded with constant happenings we were taken on a slow ride through the lives of these residents. Not a movie that is to everyone's taste I am sure, but I found it very enjoyable.
