Bike Riding

15.5 kms today, along the Parramatta River from Silverwater and then along to Sydney Olympic Park. You can see some photos here.

There are a great number of cycle paths throughout Sydney Olympic Park -- and you can ride along the road in bike lanes at some places. This page has links and maps -- though there are very helpful maps throughout the park which I found very helpful when I wasn't sure where to go. There were a lot of people out cycling today -- both along the Parramatta River and particularly through Sydney Olympic Park. And with changes in scenery from ferry wharfs to industry to apartments to mangroves and bush, why wouldn't you?

Path along the mangroves [which did smell terrible at times I must say: I pedalled faster then!] and a Paperbark tree -- so-called due to their paper-thin bark which you can easily strip away:
