Tomorrow, four Germans from the wonderful town of Wolfenbüttel will arrive in Sydney. I met the parents when they were here last year [a friend of mine went over to Germany and stayed with them when she was in High School: lucky private school people -- the farthest I went was Canberra!], and met their daughter and her boyfriend when I went on a tour of Germany last year and stayed with them.

Wolfenbüttel is a beautiful and wonderful place -- from the beautiful ducal palace [now a fascinating museum], to the churches, to the numerous half-timber houses. My wonderful hosts also took me to the castle Wernigerode, the beautiful town of Wernigerode, on a tour of a disused iron mine (fascinating...though hard to understand at times as it was all in German...though there were plenty of demonstrations), and an old guard station on the old border between East and West Germany, among many other places. I had a great time there.

I can't wait to see them all again, and show them around this wonderful city of Sydney. My German also requires a bit of brushing up...but their English [as with all Germans] is fantastic and puts my language abilities to shame. I can only hope that they get half the enjoyment and pleasure that I got when I was there.
