Last night we had a "Ship Meet" in Sydney. What is a "Ship Meet"? It is where you take your life into your hands and agree to meet people you only know through the online Christian magazine "Ship of Fools" (which you can read by clicking the link over on the left). I love these get-togethers, as they never fail to include sheer lunacy -- and getting to know and forging friendships with all you meet is a blessing indeed!
This meet's impetus (not that we need one!) was to get together with a shipmate from Tasmania who is up in Sydney for a few days. We had a fantastic Vietnamese dinner (rice paper rolls, campfire beef and chicken, sizzling wild boar... -- how can you go wrong?), seasoned with plenty of discussion and riotous laughter. The evening was finished in a quite civil manner of tea / coffee: after walking by a man dressed as a nun with an accordion on the way to the café -- the joys of Oxford Street!
