Enrolment Day

Sydney's very-own Alexanderplatz can be found when you walk through Macquarie University. Featureless concrete buildings reminiscent of the East German architecture in Berlin are well represented there.

Enrolment day was a long affair. Despite being lulled into a false sense of “this will be nice and quick” at the start, I didn't need to wait long to be part of the queues snaking through the hallowed halls of learning. I also needed to part with a fair amount of my hard-earned cash for textbooks, course notes and readings. To add to the costs, the Linguistics section of the bookshop was unfortunately (for me) right next to the Religion section, and I parted with more money than I expected. A book on Orthodoxy caught my eye -- and it took up most of my evening: a very fascinating book.

7 days until uni starts. I cannot wait.
