(Or "evening" rather)

First classes today. One class on "Linguistics and Language Teaching" and another on "Sociocultural Aspects of Language Learning and Teaching". They were far more exciting than they sound!

The fellow students (and lecturers) are wonderful and have wicked senses of humour. It is great to be in an environment that is so friendly and where people seem genuinely interested in forming friendships. As someone with a rather low self-esteem it worried me a great deal that this would be a lonely experience where no-one would want to associate with me, but tonight has granted me ease.

I'm going to look into helping with a one hour "Conversation Class" at the International Language Centre at the uni. I believe, as well as hopefully helping ESL students to gain confidence in their conversation skills, it will be a great help to me in terms of giving me some practical experience with ESL students before I start the "offical" practicum.

I'm off to bed very happy tonight. ;-)
