In the midst of much disunity, it is with joy I read this post on my dear friend Anthony's blog -- the restoring of communion between the Assyrian Catholic Apostolic Diocese and the Catholic church by their entry into the Chaldean Catholic Dioceses. There has been a great deal of trouble and pain in the Assyrian Church of the East in California of late: you can read about it here. However, union and communion is cause for great celebration. At times, unity does seem so far away...impossible in fact. These steps give me some hope that we may all be one [John 17:21] as Jesus prayed.
