I'm not sure if the Office Footy Tipping Competition is as widespread outside Terra Australis as it is within, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were a purely Australian phenomenon.
Despite my lack of any knowledge of Rugby League, I led the competition from Round 2 to Round 24 (last week) -- scoring 6s and 7s (out of possible 7) most weeks! Given I selected teams based on what colours took my fancy each week, it was a shock each week that I did so well -- and added to the ever-increasing chagrin of my colleagues: most of whom follow the sport fastidiously.
All good things must come to an end as they say. In the penultimate round, I only scored 4 and have been overtaken by one person, and two people have joined me on my score. Oh well: a top 5 finish is still within my sights. Not bad for someone who doesn't (and doesn't want to) know anything about rugby.
