The Orthodox don't go for brevity in their Liturgy, nor their Feast Day Names! ;-)

The Feast of The Universal Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross was celebrated last night at my parish. The Feast commemorates the finding of the Cross of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ by St Helen, the mother of Constantine.

It seemed very odd to be hearing about Jesus' death on the cross [the Gospel reading was John 19:6-11, 13-20, 25-28, 30-35] outside of Holy Week -- but it was a blessing to be able to meditate on the significance of Jesus' victory over death and sin on the cross. It is a message one can never tire of hearing, and upon each hearing new insights and significances are often seen: thanks be to God!
