Currently 36.3 C [97.34 F] at the nearest working Weather Station to me [Badgery's Creek]. Though it was 36.9 C earlier. Interestingly the City is hotter -- usually it is warmer out here. Apparently this is the hottest October day on record, and is 16 C above average! I wish I was at work today, so I could at least have air-con.
Conversation class [where I could've stayed forever -- the air-con was wonderful!] today was a veritable United Nations: India, Korea, China, Peru. I was struck by the number of synonyms we have in English today. We truly have so many words that mean the same thing, or at are very close to meaning the same thing. I wouldn't want to get rid of any of them, but I have seen how troublesome it can be for learners.
