A wonderful Matins service, a wonderful Divine Liturgy celebrating the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, and some wonderful post-service discussions.
Then 8 of us went down to Wollongong to celebrate a friend's Feast Day. A wonderful lunch was put on by his family and church, and we flicked through a wonderful book owned by his parents on Russian Art -- the icons were particularly beautiful, and those with me explained much about them to me.
We also took a tour of the backyard in which all manner of plants and trees were growing, and I got to see a real-live example of a Black Russian tomato. As we retired for dessert, the sound of some young girls playing beautifully on the piano filled the air. Unfortunately, so did the rather pungent odour of the most foul-smelling fruit known to man: durian. I did not partake, having done so on a previous occasion.
A very pleasant day: thanks be to God.
