Storms

Some rather severe storms swept through New South Wales yesterday. I watched from the safety of my room as lightning [forked and sheet] continually lit up the sky. A massive heavenly display. And it continued well into the night...calm followed storm and the cycle repeated.

Despite the prevalence of flying foxes [fruit bats] around my area, none flew past like they did near Deeleea.

Unfortunately the rain and winds caused a lot of damage. The Matong pub in southern NSW had its roof lifted off and deposited in a paddock some 500 metres away. Many people are without power. Storms may be beautiful from a distance and from a safe position, but they can be devastating.

And the tsunami toll jumped horrifically yesterday. Indonesia added 70,000 people to its toll, bringing the number of dead to 226 000. Lord, have mercy!
