With the handing in of assignment three, and the final lecture, semester one finished last night for me.
I received assignment two back, and was rather surprised to receive 22 out of 30 -- far better than I had expected. So far, I have an 85% average, so, barring any major catastrophe with assignment three, I should do alright.
Assignment three was a group assignment -- which is enough to instill dread and loathing in me from the moment I hear those dreaded words "group assignment". I did have a great team, for which I am thankful, but I still find group assignments hard work. I do prefer to work alone and I do like having things done a certain way, so it is a bit difficult for me at times. But, as I said, I was part of a good team and I think a good job was done.
I really enjoyed this semester: the subject was interesting, the people in the class were great and fun, and the lecturer was informed as well as very entertaining -- as were the two industry guest speakers we had visit. The subject matter, Project Management, was rather challenging at times, at at certain points during assignments I felt I was rather lost. However, it is good to be challenged, and expand one's knowledge. It can be a bit difficult as, if I don't say so myself!, I am rather competent at my job -- so having to deal with subject matter that can be bewildering is rather a jolt to one's ego; though that may be a good thing to keep one's humble.
Looking forward to semester 2 in August.
