Sunday of the Prodigal Son

I have recklessly forgotten Your glory, O Father;
and among sinners I have scattered the riches which You had given me.
Therefore, I cry to You like the Prodigal:
"I have sinned before You, O compassionate Father;
receive me a penitent and make me as one of Your hired servants."

Today is the Sunday of the Prodigal Son. Anyone care to make a guess as to what Gospel passage we read? ;-)

I adore the parable of the Prodigal Son, with its themes of us returning from exile back to God, and the ever-loving God who is awaiting to take us back with open arms and a feast prepared. And not forgetting the warning not to be like the older brother in letting jealously overtake us.
