Yesterday evening we had the Agape Paschal Vespers, a wonderful evening service where the Gospel is read in as many languages as possible. I didn't realise this until, as the priest prepared to read the Gospel, a friend came up to me and said, "You read German, don't you?" Replying in the affirmative I was directed to the side of the priest and read the Gospel lesson in German. It was a true pleasure to participate in this way.
