This afternoon I saw the The Producers musical. I can heartily recommend it. Full of wonderful singing, belly-aching laughter, and fantastic performances. The well-known song from the production, Springtime for Hitler, didn't fail to provoke great laughter from the audience, and there were plenty of other wonderful songs throughout. I haven't seen the movie, but I think I may look for it next time I am at the video shop. Springtime for Hitler is a rather catchy ditty, and I think I may've been singing it (under my breath) on the bus on the way home! I do hope I didn't scare any passengers near me. If you were on an express bus [well, it was labelled such despite its slow progress!] to Strathfield that was replacing trains on that line around 5.45pm and I annoyed / frightened / terrified you, please accept my apologies.
I went over my grandmother's house for dinner: some lovely roast beef and steamed vegetables. I adore steamed vegetables: simply beautiful. I've always liked most of my greens; I must be an odd person.
My sister and brother-in-law came over tonight with my niece. I think I need to build up my arm muscles: my left arm is a bit sore after carrying her around for about twenty minutes. Everytime I sat down she started to cry, and as soon as I stood up and started walking she stopped. She's in control already. She was a bit tired, and for the life of me I could think of no lullabies except Rock-a-bye Baby! The only other songs I could think of were Bananas in Pyjamas and The Teddy Bear's Picnic: perhaps not the most soothing of songs, but she seemed to enjoy them. I think I need to go a Googling for some lullabies. If any of you have suggestions, please comment.
