Jaffa Orange PancakePancakes on the Rocks

A fantastic meet this evening with Deeleea, Miss Lisa [wiblog-less], Semele -- I was definitely the thorn amidst the roses! -- and myself at Pancakes on the Rocks at The Rocks, a very historic part of Sydney.

I enjoyed a very nice Eggplant Pizza (grilled eggplant and zucchini with sundried tomatoes, spanish onion, marinated mushrooms on a tomato and mozzarella base) for my main, and the lovely Jaffa Orange Pancake (orange segments and Grand Marnier sauce with chocolate pancakes, cream, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and chocolate chips) for dessert -- I think I managed two-thirds before I retired. The others feasted wonderfully also. But more exciting than the food was the wonderful array of topics covered.

Who would've guessed that Miss Lisa knows the location of (and loves!) three hardware shops within 15 minutes of her home? Did you know that Deeleea sang in a woman's close harmony group, similar to a barbershop quarter, with sequins and big hair-dos? And did you ever think that Semele would read books on prostitutes coming out to Oz after the First Fleet? A night of revelations...let me tell you!

Thank you all for a fantastic evening! It was great to meet Miss Lisa, great to see Deeleea again, and great to see Semele once more in our fair city. And it was wondrous to find out about the existence of a Lindt café in Sydney: it is #1 on my list when I next visit the city from my home out in the suburbs!
