Four dinners this week -- I feel particularly busy! It's always great to catch up with friends, enjoy yourself over a nice meal and to meet new people as well. Yesterday I caught up with two fellow posters on the Ship of Fools forums; tonight I am off to Cronulla to meet a friend before he heads off to South Korea to begin his teaching career; Friday night I am out to dinner with work colleagues; and Sunday I am again meeting up with some people from Ship of Fools, and meeting someone from Melbourne from the Ship I haven't yet met. Add to this Wednesday's trip to the movies [I received a free ticket through being on my local ABC radio's e-mail list], and it is a far more social and active week than my usual hermitic existence.
Last night was a wonderful evening, and it was fantastic to see R and J again. They are two truly wonderful women, and it was an extremely enjoyable and laughter-filled evening. R was down from Brisbane, and we had dinner in J's home.
J made a wonderful dinner: we had salmon with ginger, which was washed down with a white wine. Absolutely delicious. Dessert followed: sweet and succulent peaches, slightly warmed, and cream. Mmmmm. And as if that were not enough, I sampled the delights of Yorkshire Gold Tea: a wonderful tea variety.
Again, as with Saturday night, I was reminded of the great blessing of friendship and the wonderful gift from God it is. And I am truly blessed with the friendships I have.
