This book arrived today from the UK. Considering I only ordered it last week, that is pretty fast. Thank you Orthodox Christian Books. And thank you to Elizabeth at The Garden Window who made mention of it on her blog, causing me to buy it.

Simply leafing through it and seeing all of the icons [in colour!] is wonderful. A quick look at the Table of Contents reveals it covers the theological principles of iconography, the technique of icon painting, and descriptions of the icons based on where they came from [Byzantium, Greek icons after Byzantium, Mediaeval Russian, Russian 18th to 20th Century, Georgian, Serbian and more...] I can't wait to start reading it!
