Bimbling Along's latest post aroused many wonderful memories: I too remember watching The Mysterious Cities of Gold as a kid. I remember I would always be looking forward to watching the latest adventures of Esteban, Zia and Tao.
I loved the programmes of my youth that I either rushed home from school to see or delayed leaving for school for as long as possible to watch -- and then had to either walk very fast or pedal harder to ensure I got to school on time! From the sheer silliness of You Can't Do That on Television, to the action of He-man and Shera to the fun of The Smurfs: all so enjoyable. Then there were the various cartoons which may have been made ages ago, but the antics of Tom and Jerry, Coyote and Road Runner and Bugs Bunny, Daffy and Elmer Fudd, to name but a few, had me, and still do have me, in stitches. And then there was Yogi, Top Cat and Magilla Gorilla as well. I must be getting old though...I don't understand, or enjoy, the new cartoons or anime. Give me the old stuff anyday.
And I can't forget the non-cartoon shows made ages ago, which I still enjoy: Bewitched, Hogan's Heroes, I Dream of Jeannie and The Flying Nun. And there's probably plenty more.
Aaah...wonderful memories. Thank you Bimbling Along!
