A day of eating (and over-eating!) and chatting.
First to a parishioner's place for a surprise BBQ for the parishioner described in my last blog (who is holidaying in Russia and Greece for six months and staying in various monasteries while there). An overabundance of wonderful Lebanese food and delicious meats BBQed to perfection. And plenty of conversation and laughs. I am blessed with a great parish and great friends.
And then down to The Shire [God's own country, as the locals like to call it!] for the birthday celebration of a friend from The Ship. Happy Birthday for Monday K! K is currently studying at St Francis' Theological College with the aim of being ordained to the priesthood (I can't recall the correct term: postulant? ordinand?) Her sister flew her back down to Sydney for the weekend for her birthday. Plenty of Greek food was on offer as well as some delicious home-made pizzas: and I managed to scoff down quite a bit. It was great to see K again and also wonderful see another person from the Ship, as well as K's friends and family. The conversation continued well into the evening.
A very, very pleasant day.
