After a bit of a bad start. I woke up to find my right-eye half-closed and with plenty of gunk coming out of it. Off to the doctor: told it was an infection: was given drops: they're helping. I was considering an eye-patch, but I couldn't find the parrot, peg-leg and hook to go with it.
The third session of our Clinical Pastoral Visitation course seemed to get off topic far more than it remained on topic: but it was good nonetheless. We looked, via a poem, at the importance of seeing the image of Christ, and in fact Christ himself, in all people and in all circumstances. We also looked at how to fill in a description of how our visit went so that we can both reflect on it and use it in consulting with our supervisor.
I left a bit early to pick up a shipmate from the city who was over from the US. He had expressed an interest in attending Vespers. We arrived slightly late, which would generally not be a problem, but they actually started on time! The lateness was due to a bit more traffic than I expected, as well as me getting confused with all the road closures and changes due to the new Cross City Tunnel. But we got there.
The service was, as always, beautiful, and the shipmate appeared to enjoy it as well as experience the presence of the Divine. It was great to meet him and learn a little about him. Come back soon, or -- hopefully! -- I'll get the chance to come over there.
An early night as I was getting up around 6am Sunday for the ~ 250km trip to Canberra to meet from more people from the Ship.
