Movies

[Aside: Hello, or Salut!, to the Cote d'Ivoire visitor I've had recently!]

David and Margaret, two rather famous movie reviewers here in Oz, reviewed several very interesting movies tonight.

Generally I'm rather picky with the movies I go and see. I rarely go to the movies, and when I do it is generally on my own. I do enjoy watching them on my own, much like I often go to the theatre on my own, though I do occasionally miss having a conversation about the movie / show with someone afterwards. Though I am a bit of a loner and enjoy my own company at times. Anyway, back to my picky-ness: I do occasionally see movies merely for a laugh and to relax, but often I'll be extremely choosy. I suppose that is why I'm more disappointed than most if I see a bad film!

I've seen some interesting movies of late that I've enjoyed: Little Fish, a wonderful Australian movie on the past impacting the present; Wallace and Gromit -- The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, a fantastic animation from Aardman Animations (what a shame about the fire); and the wondrously dark Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Of the movies David and Margaret reviewed, I'm really looking forward to seeing the South African movie Yesterday and the new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The Italian Film Festival opens in Sydney tomorrow, and I hope to see one or two movies. I try and do the same when the yearly German, Spanish and French Film Festivals are on also.

I do enjoy movies.
