It was a lovely weekend. Although we left the house a little bit later than planned we still got there loads earlier that we expected so it was nice to just relax in our room before getting ready for the wedding. It is really hard to park round Cambridge so JT dropped me off at the church and then went looking for a place to park the car. It was only when i got to the church that i realised that id forgot for the first time ever to put my wedding ring on. Id look it off as i was using some moisteriser and didnt want bits of cream to get stuck in it. It felt really wierd not wearing it and was so glad when i was able to get it back before we got to the reception.
The service was wonderful. Their choice of flowers were fab, a bright mixture of purple, pink and orange. It may sound a bizarre combination but it was stunning. I really loved the music also. They had someone playing the trumpet. I always love hearing brass instruments so that was fantastic.
About 10 years go i did a youth year with Oasis trust. I was based in a team of four in Whickham Gateshead. There was a girl called sara who was from London, a lad called stuart who was from Norwich and the team leader called Phil who has either lived in Cambridge or was due to live in Cambridge afterwards. I was wondering if it was going to be a 'small world moment' and find he was also at the wedding. However he wasnt. The reception was at another church in Cambridge and as we walked in i looked at some pictures on the wall and there was a picture of Stuart. He is now the youth worker at that very church. How bizarre is that?
When i got to work on monday i decided to find the church on the internet and send him a email as it would be good to catch up after all this time.
Anyway back to the wedding. It was a beautiful day and was so nice to get to see JTs family again. JT has three cousins and it was nice to have a great time with them and also their wives/girlfriends.
On the sunday we all had breakfast at the place we were staying at. JTs mom, dad, nan and grandad went to church and the rest of us decided to go for a walk round Cambridge. Im really glad i took my walking boots as we ended up walking all morning apart from a quick stop as a tea shop.
At lunch time we all met up for a pub lunch and then we all went our seperate ways again.
On the way home me an JT decided to stop off for a coffee and went to one of the Boundry mill stores. After our cake and coffee we had a look round the big shop to see if there was any bargains. JT ended up a leather suit holder for his suit and some new gloves and i had this fantastic small suitcase. It is green cord with different coloured spots on it. It will be great as hand luggage when we go on holiday and also if i need a bigger bag on different days at home.
We finally got home at about 6ish and apart from JT sorting out some washing and i sorting out the tea, we just relaxed for the rest of the evening.
Monday it was the first day on our new floor at work. Its really nice having a loo on our floor and not having to go down to the next one just to have a wee. After work i had badminton and then as JT didnt have his youth team we had the evening together. JT had brought me 2 bunches of Tulips which are gorgeous and are now in a vase in the hall.
Tonight JT is cooking me a meal and we will go out for a meal on thursday. We arnt doing huge pressies for valentines. we have tend to buy eachother little gifts or cards thoughout the year when we see something nice. We are sending eachother cards though aswell today. The meal tonight is also because tuesday is usually our date night anyway so its nice to do something a bit more special.
I have no idea what he is cooking but im making sure im using minimal points today so can have wine and pudding tonight :-D
