I start my 4 day week officially after easter but i have this friday off as its Good Friday and i also had last friday off as it was JTs birthday. he is now 28 years old. He is younger than me but it never seems as bad once he has a birthday as its 31-28 rather than 31-27 lol
As it was a 3 day weekend for us both we decided to make the most of it and did lots of things for his birthday and also just to relax and unwind.
Thursday night i said that once he is ready to get up to wake me up and i will go and make him a nice cup of coffee. He decided that time would be at 7.30am eek. At 8am he opened all his pressies and cards. We pottered about the house for a bit getting different stuff done and then at 10.30ish we headed out for the day. We went for a nice walk along the river by Chatsworth. We drove past where we had the reception which was nice and parked up by the garden centre and did a 2 hour round trip round the grounds. Although the weather wasnt brilliant it was really nice. We then had our picnic lunch and then drove to Bakewell to have a walk round. JT managed to get a great bargain with a new walking jacket in a shop that was closing down and we also stopped off at a local cafe for cake and coffee.
After that we decided to head off up to Castleford? Nr Leeds to have a look at a new car. Now that i have passed my test we both need use of a car so we have been looking round. We got a real bargain and will be picking it up this week. It will be so nice not having to rely on buses and lifts all the time.
After that we had a pub tea and headed back to Sheffield as JT was going to pop to the pub with his mate as that was the only time he was going to be able to see him. I then picked him back up again about 11ish, so that was nice as i spoke to my mom and also managed to watch ER which id taped on the monday.
On the saturday JT did some work at church and i spent saturday morning with my friend Sue who has just moved to the area. It was nice catching up with her and show her some of Sheffield. She is currently working and living in Chesterfield but would like to do a houseshare in Sheffield. She may also start at my church so that will also be great.
We had lunch together and then i dropped her off at the station and then rushed back into town as me and JT were booked in to see the Reduced Shakespeare Company at 3pm. We were about 5 rows back so we had a great few and it was a brilliant show. After that we headed back home and had a really nice relaxing evening in. JT wasnt feeling too well so that was good to just stay in.
Sunday morning we went to church and then after lunch i got some housework done and watched some ally macbeal and JT went to take some photos with a friend at Ladybower(spell)
In the evening we went to a Jazz evening at The Showroom in Sheffield. It was such a great evening. For £10 each we got a glass of wine, the entertainment and 6 large bowls of tapas to share between us both. The evening was brilliant but slightly marred by the couple who were in the their 40s who were completely drunk and being rather suggetive to eachother.
All in all though its been a wonderful weekend and feels like ive been off for more than 3 days.
