Today is my day off, so decided to go to Brum with dad, as he wanted to look at how they have built the new Bullring shopping centre. I prefer older style buildings, but it is pretty impressive, plus they now have a huge Debenhams, which is always good. The main shop in there though is Selfridges. Its very impressive and it all looks very nice in there, but it all seems just a little too cool. There is a large unusual food section, which looks impressive, but its costs the earth, when it would be much nicer and cheaper to go to a market or specialist shop for the things they were selling. they did have a nice coffee place though, where you can sit outside and also a Paperchase section. So i got myself some more brown ink, chocolate smelling pens :-)
While i was in brum i decided i was going to get some of my toiletries. I usually have to buy them online as they dont sell them in the town that i live nearest to. They do sell them in one of the big department stores, so thought as i needed to stock up, i would save myself my usual postage and buy some. To my wonderful suprise in the new Bullring, they have a actual Molton Brown shop. I was very excited and brought two bottles of shower gel. I know they cost between £11- £16 for a 300ml bottle, but they smell fantastic and they last for ages. I would rather pay that than £4 for a bottle that only last a couple of weeks. A normal Molton Brown bottle lasts about two months and that is having a shower or bath everyday, sometimes two. They even gave me a free 10ml bottle of another shower gel that i also use, so that was even more fantastic.
Last night i went to the cinema with my friend sue. As i has spent more that £15 in Boots they gave me a 2 for 1 ticket voucher to watch 'Down with Love' Its a fantastic movie and i loved every minute of it. I did however make the mistake of only eating a sandwich all day, and brought some sweets from the 'pic and mix'. Not a good idea on a empty stomach to eat rum & raisin fudge, turkish delight covered in pink chocolate and peach fizzes. I did really rather ill when i got home.
Anyway tonight, i plan to just stay in and relax. I have rented some films from work so i will watch a couple of them and try to get a early night.
