It was a manic shift at work and i didnt think i was going to leave the shop in time, but i managed to get on my train and i arrived in Euston at 8.30pm. I then had to catch a tube to my hotel. The hotel was really nice and they even upgraded me to a double room which was a bonus.

I was planning on getting up early to have breakfast but i overslept and had a bit of a mad rush to have a shower, but i managed to get out of the hotel by 11am. They even let me keep my suitcase at the hotel free of charge. It was only a minute walk to the train station from the hotel. It was quite warm so i just carried my coat and scarf.

I brought a coffee to go and got on my train, only to find id dropped my scarf at some point. Im gutted as i loved my scarf, it was stripey and kept me very warm. Once i got off the train i jumped into a taxi and got to the church in plenty of time. I got shown around the building, met the other folk being interviewed and some of the church folk and then we had lunch. Everyone was really friendly and so i was less nervous than i thought i was going to be.

I then was taken round the parish in a car to see the area and also the accomodation. The house looks really nice from the outside. At the end of the year they are planning to put in a new kitchen and bathroom, carpet thoughout and paint any walls that need doing. After the tour it was then my turn for the interview. I had a panel of four people, including the vicar. some of the questions were a bit scary but on the whole i think it went well. After the interview i booked a taxi to take me back to the station as i was getting dark. I went to pay for the journey and i was told the church had already paid for it, which was really nice of them.

I then had to collect my suitcase and head back to the train station as i was meeting a friend who is also a shipmate. I was staying at her house that evening. Before heading back to her house, we decided to pop into the pub and have a quick drink. I even did the 10min walk to her house, with heals on, which at this point were killing me.

We had a really nice evening. We ordered a take away, chatted and listened to music ( which included an Elvis CD ) i think he is over rated but this Cd was actually really good. The next day we went to the most fantastic coffee place for lunch, and sat at a really cool low table with cushions. It wasnt a chain run coffee place and it was so much nicer as it had the personal touch to it.

My train was booked for 6pm from Euston. For some reason the journey was changed and wasnt going any further than birmingham, so i had to get off there and was meant to get a coach to wolverhampton. I usually only get my train from Wolves as its a direct journey, so as i had to change at brum anyway i decided to get the train that is closer to home.

All in all a fantastic couple of days. I should know this week whether i have the job or not. I really hope i do, as the church was wonderful.
